Ok, I got a brand new system (parts listed that really matter for my issue)
8k7a+
soundblasteMP3 5.1
ati radeon 64mb vivo
Pioneer 106 dvd
misumi floppy
windows 98

Ok everthing was going fine, I even installed and played deus ex

then I Installed a iomega zip 100 and a iomega 12X burner

THe hard drive 60 gig ibm is in the 1st raid slot
the dvd is in the primary master ide
the cdrw is in the secondary master
the Iomega is in the secondary slve

the dvd reads as the d drive, the cdr burner as the e, and the iomega as the f drive

I hooked the dvd player into the soundblasters internal digital in and the burner into the cd in

Now
I put deus ex into the dvd or the burner and it intially reads(it comes up as being in the player in my computer), then when it goes to load the game it says "no cd in tray" or something like that, and it has a retry button and if you press that you can retry forever and it still won't pick up

also, I can listen to audio cds through my burner, but not through my dvd, it acts like it is plying but I can't here anything.
(also none of my ports are muted)

The wierdest thing is, that I can put a dvd into the dvd player, and it plays with sound and everything WTF??????

What in the heck is wrong, I can't figure it out????

I have the latest 4 in 1's , the latest bios, have tried audio in several differnt plying programs and crap none of them will get audio through the dvd
except the dvd player

does anybody have any solutions to my multiple problems, any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks

So the DVD is connected thru the SPDIF? Do you have the SPDIF enabled in the mixer? How about the digital CD (icon has a CD with a square wave next to it)? Have you tried to connect the analog from the DVD to the internal AUX connector on your sound card?
