DVD Cases - 100pk for $28 shipped

I don't know about the quality of those containers (mainly concerned about the locking of the case and the hubs).

As a slightly more expensive alternative, you might check these out.

Amaray is pretty much the industry standard (ie when you buy a DVD, it's this case it's in...or rather, the first version). This is the new updated version that includes the ability to add a second dvd if you buy the snap in tray. At 33 cents apiece, and discounts on large numbers, this could be a pretty good deal as well (not free shipping though).

Just for proven quality if interested. Not trying to say those others aren't good too.

I've mentioned this on another deal board but if u goto blockbuster at the beginning of the week you can get as many of these cases as u want. I went in there the other day and they were throwing out about 100 cases. So I asked and the guy gave me about 80 cases.

This one sounded kind of bad about the supermediastore....

"Purchased 100 DVDR and 100 DVD Cases. Items arrived quickly and are good quality. Only Issue I have is that the DVD Cases smell like they have been urinated on or cigarette smoke. I can't make up my mind which it smells like more. It is disgusting. I don't know if this is due to the production of them or the storage area where they are stored. Beyond this one issue I am satisfied."

Of course, US Plastic has only ONE review itself.....

BW5150:

Which day are you talking about as best? Monday, Tuesday?

Does Blockbuster not keep the DVD's they rent in them, only with a Blockbuster deal in the sleeve???

I guess I'm trying to figure out why they would be throwing so many out.

EDIT: Another Site

These I don't know quality of either, but cheap prices.

I have bought from US Plastic numerous times. They messed up one time and sent the wrong item and they made it good by sending twice as many of the right one and requested I keep the wrong one. They seem to be a good company to me.

That's a pretty good price. I also purchase these at Frys...however at 1/3 cheaper (and Frys is my cheapest local source) of Frys, this is tough to pass up.

I drive by USPlastics about once a month, they have an "outlet store" of sorts at their factory. If you drive through Lima, OH on I-75 you can't miss their factory, it's on the west side of the road with huge "Christ is the answer" lettering on the side.

I've been meaning to stop in and pick up some DVD cases to save on shipping. The people there are very nice.

yeah i've been buying my dvd cases from USplastics.com for awhile

maybe i could save a few bucks elsewhere but they have good service 🙂

Ok, I did the Blockbuster thing this morning. Picked up about 55 black cases, and 21 clear from one store.

Don't care for the clear myself, and most the black (all but 17) were the type with only 2 half-circle clamps inside. My experience says those aren't too good for securing a DVD. The other 17 had 3 clamps in them (much more secure).

Free is good. I'll keep the 17 for myself and give the others to friends.

Thanks for the info!!!!

P.S. There's about 50 Blockbusters in my area. Multiply how many there are across the US, and they're throwing away about a 100 per store per week????? How insane is that??? That's a crap load of good containers making the non-degradable landfills each week....over a quarter million in my city alone in a year's time!!!! (minus the people that actually do come and get them before they hit the trash)

Who the heck came up with that policy at Blockbuster???? Stack the dang things in a corner and sell them for a buck per hundred!!!!

I actually like the dual disk cases because I can fit twice as many DVDs on the shelf, and I can make custom labels with any printer.

My cousin ordered a bunch of these off ebay...and yeah they do smell funny...kinda like burnt plastic and cigarette smoke.

I have a friend that used to work at Blockbuster. He got a huge piles of those cases, and gave me quite a few. Strangely, I tried to sell them a a local hamfest/flea a couple of weeks back, 4/$1, which would be cheaper than any of the prices that you folks posted, and no-one was interested. (I mean, a buck, really, what's the problem with that? Wal-Mart sells them 5 for $3. I never can figure out potential customers at that location. Must be fellow hot-dealers or something. 😛)

Yep, Blockbuster is the way to go. Now, of course, you can just walk into the store like some have suggested here, but I find it's more fun and interesting to rummage in the Blockbuster dumpster at night. I've gotten hundreds of DVD cases that way 🙂

Too bad that AOL does not offer the free trial CDs in DVD cases anymore. I used to get dozens of them at stores like Sears.

For the guys who make their own labels, what do you use? I bought one of those CD label kits years ago and it was terrible.
