DVD Burning Software

Prefferably freeware...

I have over 40gB of pictures. It's a pain in the butt to go through them and collect 4.7gB worth, burn, and remember where I left off.

Is there any program that I can just grab the entire batch, and it will 'split' them for me?

Prassi ONEs is still available for sale but dont know if they update anymore but it still works great IMO. With ONES you can use it preview mode and it will show how many mb/gb you've selected

Not free but I remember way back in the day Roxio would allow me to throw gobs of data at it and it would just ask me to throw in a disc every couple of minutes. It worked great for when I was burning off backed up data for customers.
