hello. i just purchased the nec3500a oem w/o the roxio 7 dvd burning software because i read some reviews saying that it was bloatware and not very effective. so, i was wondering if you fine gentlemen knew any free alternatives that might be less 'bloated' and more effective.

the last time i used dvdshrink, it only rips the files and the act of burning dvds was dependent on NERO libraries.
 
tterris, i also have this burner but have not used it yet as i have no discs, is it as good as the reviews have led me to believe?
