DVD burner with lightscribe and SATA

You can find the HP DVD burner at slightly lower price in Europe (surprise).

No reason to pay more if one can get the Samsung for $88 at Best Buy.

I am more looking for the under $50 Newegg type price.

Thank you for the link.

Lower Newegg type price is not gonna happen for a good long while. It's only recently that SATA optical drives were available from other than Plextor. The HP is $104. after rebate +s/h from their store now. HP doesn't actually manufacture any optical drives (I'm pretty sure they have always been rebadges) - interesting to find out who makes that for them as you could probably find it cheaper w/o HP's cut of the money.
. In any case, I wouldn't buy either until they've gone thru the gauntlet of the techie site reviews. I'd buy a known good PATA burner (like the Samsung 183M - around $33. at Newegg w/ free shipping this week - get the Nero 7 Essentials CD from computersworth.com - the drive usually comes with Nero 6.x on the Samsung CD which you might want to use if your PC is a bit long in the tooth) and add an IDE to SATA adapter to it. Then you're all set for much less money.

Saw a Samsung SATA lightscribe at Microcenter in their ad for $49.99 , but I can't find it on their website. In-store only I guess. Is this drive any good?
