What's the differance in DVD+R and DVD-R? What are the advantages and disadvantages of the two?

actually i thought that dvd+r is more compatible
in any even they are two uncompatible technologies. in other words you burn to one or the other based on your media.
i've been told that + will win the battle but it doesn't seem that way to me, but what i have seen is that most of the - drives will also burn + which would point to + becoming standard, but don't take my word for it...

i knwo i wasn't very clear w/ my wording but i am tired... live w/ it... :)

I've seen a compatibility test on the internet where they tested various "-R" and "+R" media on several standalone DVD players. The results were DVD-R media was compatible with about 95% of the players while DVD+R media was compatible with 86%. The difference is there but it's almost negligible, either one are fine.
