DVD Burner burns, but can't read.

I have a LG GH20NS15 I bought last year, I can't seem to be able to read from it, but it still burns discs.

I've tried it with a retail disc, but can't read it.

It burns and verifies fine. I've tried discs I've burned with this drive on my other comp...works fine.

What's the problem?

That is all sympomatic of an optical drive that needs replacing. The read and write lassrs are two separate entities. One can go bad while the other is good. Sounds like your read laser is bad. You might try cleaning its lens, but odds are - it should be replaced.

Wouldn't verifying be considered reading? And it looks like I can rip dvds too, but while a disc is in the burner and I try opening it in Windows, it says it's a blank disc. the heck?

lol i wouldn't trust any disc burned from such a drive.
i've had drives burn junk it verified that couldn't be read by anything in the end.
