I want to make 1:1 backups of my dvds, and i found this program anydvd that automatically strips a dvd of its css protection when reading the disk.

If i use this program and simply copy my video_ts file onto my hard drive would this be faster than using dvd decrypter alone?

also, what is the best program to use to edit menus and shorten the main movie? dvd shrink won't let you shorten the titles without removing the menus completely

i tried dvdremake pro but it inserted gaps before every chapter so the movie skips a frame at the end/beginning of every chapter

thanks

If you feel that DVD Decrypter is too slow, then the bottleneck is likely your DVD drive that you are ripping from. You might give alternate programs like AnyDVD or SmartRipper a chance, since they all do exactly the same thing.

DVD Shrink doesn't shorten the movie's length. It only compresses the main movie more if you want to include the menus and extras.

I've not tried it, but I have heard good things about CloneDVD as an alternative to Shrink.

DVD Shrink actually can shorten the lenght if you click reauthor instead of just normal shrink ... the only problem is the menus and chapters aren't preserved

cloneDVD has too much of a glorified GUI and it loks like its a hassle to use correctly

thanks for the quick reply

anydvd with clonedvd and my BenQ 1620 with a speedpatch can rip a movie in 10-15min

I doubt you will find an easier program than clonedvd

I use DVD Shrink and I am very happy with it the even with compression of larger movies it still looks good on my Panasonic DVD-F85 I use DVD Decrypter for the copy protected movies //// Do yourself a favor and get a NEC ND-3520A burner - It's the F#%king best burner and and is only about Fifty bucks , go to Newegg.com for 99 cent shipping now
