Great... I borrowed a copy of "The One" with Jet Li from a friend to watch and I've just experienced the anti piracy protection on these DVD's for the first time. I don't have a DVD player so I just have my TV out and Pioneer DVD-115 drive hooked up... I don't want to copy the contents of the DVD.. I just wanna watch the movie. Anything out there that does that? Probably not.... since it's made to be unreadable by DVD drives right? Ah well. At least all my old DVD's work. I guess I'll have to buy a DVD player now.

Do all DVDs that are released now have this protection??

Oh yeah.. I have seen the movie now and I know how it sucked okay.. :p Okay.. it wasn't terrible but it wasn't great that's for sure. Jet Li's nobodies bitch..

Could you please be a little more specific on what happened. If you have DVD playing software for your computer, and obviously, a DVD-ROM drive, you should be able to run it on your computer and pump it out to the TV. There isn't any "new" copy protection out.

I have no problems playing a dvd on my computer to be displayed on the tv, but I do have problems on my tv with the vcr built in. DVDs made my tv incompatible... :/

Thanks Jack!

Hmmm... I screwed up.. I was trying every DVD player software I could install and they wouldn't play the DVD so I thought that it had something to do with copy protection similar to music CD's.. well I installed the version of WinDVD that came with my Gainward GF3 Ti200 and it worked. Weird..

Silly me.. and I thought it was some piracy protection.
