DV system

For some strange reason my parents, out of the blue, have decided to blow $1000 on a dv camera.
Threre system is upt to par...still have to buy a firewire card

They have a 1.33ghz AMD
Abit kt7-a raid
scsi
etc.

(I used to be mine)

anyways, we were checking a JVC model

Here is the link to it at the website...
JVC

IT seems nice and all, but I don't know how well it preforms.

AS it stands, we are going away for the holidays, so i guess it is too late to order something. Have any comments about ANY of the camcoders Best Buy and similar stores offer or a website that will get it here by the Friday?

Which is the best?
Is th eJVC good?

Thanks to all

Happy Holidays

I guess that is what they'll get uless anyone says otherwise

Thanks🙂

'would've bought a crappy camera if you guys hadn't helped out

My advice is to do more research. I bought a Sony Digital 8 last year after reading a lot of favorable reviews only to find out later that it doesn't have some features that I wanted. For example, the model I bought could not accept analog in, only digital in (two way ilink) so now I can't transfer older tapes, VHS etc to my computer via firewire for archiving onto CD's because I can't record them to my camera in the first place.

So make sure that you know what features you want, then make sure that the features are on the camera you want to buy.

One of the differences thought between the Hi-8 tapes and the DV tapes is NOT the quality, but the price. Mini DV tapes cost about twice as much. That'll add up fast.
