I did not think of 9/11 when I saw the pictures. I though it was a creative design.

Me to. People need to get their heads examined with alot of this tin foil hat crap. OMG everything is 9/11!!!!!!! My froot loops looked like the twin towers this morning in my bowl lol!!!!!!!!!

For people to claim they were replicating the 9/11 events is utterly ridiculous and is just another example of you can't make ALL the people happy ALL the time..

Honestly - given the number of architects I've known - it wouldn't suprise me at all if someone actually did have a goal of making it look like the twin tower explosions. Some of them are a bit...off 🙂

For a tall building, the design is unique and quite refreshing, and a nice nod to the urban designs of Moshe Safdie [edit to contribute some architectural design history].

Eh - I think its a rather poor attempt. His designs were so much more striking. Either they all conformed to a unique structural design or there was a single striking element interwoven/linked to a base structure. You could argue that the latter is somewhat the case but if you look at Moshe's designs I am not aware of any that would be joined to a rather boring tower.

(While its a bit hard to tell they look like your normal everyday boring rectangles)

Edit: Damn I am spending too much time thinking how I would tweak their design....

its ugly. While i think his idea was great how it came out was bad.

Yes it does look like the towers on 9/11 but i also agree the US needs to get over it. at the same time designers need to think a little before they do something.
