Dusty Baker's (Nationals manager) race sensitive comments - who should be offended?

Dancing with the stars is not a recognized or even remotely agreed upon metric for measuring dancing talent.

Reality shows are manipulated by the producers.

If I'm not mistaken dancing with the stars involves two people dancing together, which makes individual evaluation problematic.

There is no indication that the contestants on dancing with the stars constitute a statistically valid sample of each race.

Saying a race of people are not good at dancing based on the results of a reality show competition is fucking stupid.
So a show in 42 countries is falsifying their data by all 42 countries' producers who all want white people to win it? And they've been doing this for 10+ years? Ok buddy.

Regardless of what you argue, you can't change the fact that the top 20 dancers in the world from the most popular dancing show GLOBALLY are 95% white (1 lady was latino btw).

Keep making excuses though and feel free to provide your own "statistically valid sample of each race" lol. We're still waiting for that data, btw did I mention feel free to provide a link anytime? lol.

LOL at the usual suspects... these kinds of threads are like chum being tossed into a dumb pool of derp sharks...

Hey look! A troll post.

1. Nothing added to the discussion.
2. Insults tossed out.
3. Trailing off with "..."

All checks good!

I'm not saying what Dusty said was good or bad and I'm not saying the hypothetical I present is good or bad but, hypothetically, if Tony LaRussa said that "the game needs more caucasian players because, let's face it, they're just harder working" he would have been fired and blackballed by now.

It is hilarious that someone tries to insult someone, while looking silly doing it. Calling someone a bottom feeder, while acting just like one. Look! More hypocrisy in this thread. Someone is just a little bitter 😉 Done replying to useless troll posts.

Are you the LEO apologist variety derp shark, too? That's a special kind of shark. Only swims near the very bottom of the pool to feed...

Do you ever actually debate the topic at hand? All I and others see is you coming in and insulting everyone. WTF is wrong with you?

Back to the topic: What he said is fine. I wish more people would speak the truth like this. The only issue will be when the SJW jackasses come out and cry about what was said --- if whitey says it.

I'm not completely sure about the "minorities" are innately stronger/faster argument. Cultural differences may have more of an impact than any genetics, however he isn't arguing genetics. He is simply saying from the pool of players, he believes minorities of certain races tend to be faster. I'm not a big sports guy, so I don't know if that is a correct assertion.

I don't find any offense to it because it isn't detrimental to minorities. He seems to be saying you can kill two birds with one stone where you get to hire more minorities while also seeing a performance increase. So even if someone is a PC doucher, this would probably not be a hill to die on since the net effect is to help minorities.

I am basing off of who I see win the Olympics and marathons. I know marathons aren't necessarily a speed thing as more of a stamina thing. But as others pointed out in MLB, the race of the players with the most stolen bases is not white but black. There is more to stealing a base other than speed but it is a major factor.

Accused domestic abuser in this case. He was never arrested, police found no evidence to support her claim of being choked. Huge difference, but in this day and age, you are more guilty until proven innocent.

Good point. I'll admit I never even heard of the guy until yesterday. Thanks for the additional facts.

According to an article on Slate (http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/explainer/2008/08/jamaican_me_speedy.html), West Africans hold 495 of the top 500 best times in the 100m. That seems far too dominant to be random. Likewise, look at the recent dominance of Kenyans at the marathon. As David Epstein, author of The Sports Gene, put it on NPR, "There are 17 American men in history who have run under 2:10 in the marathon. There were 32 Kalenjin [tribe in Kenya] who did it in October of 2011."

I listen to a ton of sports talk radio (XM ftw!) and follow sports. The guy has had a long history of bad decisions and seems to be a pretty shitty guy. He may very well have choked her, and is guilty. I would think if a man of his strength choked a female there would be marks or some kind on the neck or affects in the eyes. I don't blame you, I try to keep myself from doing the same thing. More often than not, people are guilty first, innocent later. Especially with domestic abuse and sports. In this case however, it is just alleged and nothing legal was done to him. But the stigma will follow him around.

Hard to argue with facts. I thought it was just accepted common knowledge that on average a black man is faster than a white man? Look at the 100m sprint on any level, high school, college, Olympic... I mean, really? Seems common sense to me. Nothing wrong with stating facts, what he said was true.

Guess how many white guys were in the last round? Hint: none.

Well, the top base stealers are usually smaller (think in the mold of Rickey) but the new crop include larger than Rickey but with similar speed like Mike Trout.
Anyway, it’s true. Mike Trout is officially the white Bo Jackson. It’s actually kind of weird; Bo Jackson was 6’1″, 230 lbs and ran a 4.12 40 yard dash (let’s be real, it was probably around 4.2), and Mike Trout is 6’2″, 235 lbs and ran a 4.35 when he had a little less muscle on him.
Hence, if Trout wasn't hitting so many homeruns he would probably be batting 3rd or maybe leadoff and stealing a lot more bases (he led his league in 2012 before his power surge). But usually it's the smaller guys who are stealing more. Race-wise, there are actually some speedsters who are white and have led their leagues as well such as Ellsbury and Gardner. Mainly it's the little latino or black players though: Altuve, Gordon, Young, Bourn, E.Cabrera, Crisp, Crawford, Tavaras, Reyes to name a few of the last SB champs.

Cultural and regional motivators may play a primary role in this. Again, I'm only speaking to genetics vs environmental/behavioral factors.

West Africans are, claiming black men are faster than white men isn't accurate at all. There are more whites competitive in the 100m dash internationally than East Africans. Speed has nothing to do with skin color it has to do with localized adaptations due to geography.

That's because there are lots of countries with very few black people in them. Obviously whites are going to be more competitive there.

Claiming that only West Africans are faster is silly. There are generations of black men, or mixed black/white men in America that are on average faster than white men. The link I dropped for the 100m men's final in the 2012 is telling, guess how many are from "West Africa"?

I don't even know why you're trying to claim that on average black men are not faster than white men. It's just common sense. But for whatever reason you don't understand this, and no sense in going 'round and 'round about it.

it's the same kind of dumb thinking where people say a reality tv show is evidence that white people are better dancers than black people.

Hey, sometimes you just gotta choke a bitch.

On a serious note, isn't there a tribe or something in South America with the faster fuckers ever or is it best endurance maybe and they do it friggen barefoot?

Well actually it's more like 20 dancers, and in 42 countries, and the show has been running for over 10 years now. No blacks in the top 20 dancers across 42 countries, so yeah your stereotype isn't going to fly. They simply aren't better at dancing, there's no data to support it - stop watching BET or whatever shows/rap videos you watch that gave you this impression.

Frankly I'm not sure that there is a baseline for something as subjective as dancing but if there was a reality show called Dancing with the Stars wouldn't be it.... Just saying.
