Baker out as Cubs' skipper

It's official: Baker out as Cubs' skipper

Dusty Baker is out as the Chicago Cubs' manager following a last-place finish and a failure to take the team to the playoffs in his four years. "I wish we could have gotten it done but we didn't," Baker said Monday. He compiled a 322-326 record during his time in Chicago.

(I don't know sports or nothin' but seems to me they did make the playoffs, just not the series)...

Might as well trade away Mark Prior and Kerry Wood while they maintain some value.

neither has any value right now, and Wood is a free agent now

You could possibly get a team to take a flyer on Prior, but I wouldn't expect much in return.

Wood should give up on starting and become a dominant closer.

Dusty Baker has no concept of arm fatigue, his pitch counts for starting pitchers are stupidly high compared to almost every other manager - the only one worse in recent memory was the old guy who managed the Marlins to the WS title a few years ago, Jack McKeon.

It would help if the team spent some more money on better players.
I don't think it's fair to put all the blame on Dusty.
