I heard my fans running unusually fast and loud the other day, and they wouldn't stop. I thought maybe some program was running in the background. Checked, but no. Then I rebooted and still the airplane props were whirring!
Opened the case to find a pretty serious collection of dust on everything. I had a small bit of compressed air left in a can, and used what I had to clean the case out. Once I was done, the fans RPM's returned to normal.
But that got me to thinking. Besides those lame, and expensive cans of air, what's a good alternative to keeping a case relatively dust free?
