hi
my celeron 900@1150 has been screwed up so i want to get a duron /compatible mobo and ddr ram and i am on a tight budget
so there are some questions, please gurus answer them:
1)What duron can i get the most oc out of it
i am cought between 1.0,1.1 and 1.2
as those are the ones available
2)do the duron run at 133/266 or at 100/200?
i am just asking to know if i have to get 2700 or 2100 ram
3)is the soltek sl75 drv4 a good board?
it is the only one available to me here in egypt
i am gonna get it and use the duron until i get raid the bank near by and get a 2200+🙂
4)is there a certain stepping i should be looking for ,for ocing

1) All the durons are kind of hit and miss. I'd suggest getting the highest clock speed and just playing around with it. It's not like the Northwoods where the 1.6A's are almost guaranteed to hit 2+ghz type thing.
2) The Durons run on a 100/200 mhz FSB
3) I have no idea
4) Nope... no stepping. Check out Overclockers.com and look at the CPU Database up top.

G'luck!

I have a duron 1g (not unlocked) running a fsb of 133/133 for an overclock to 1333. Rock solid. Using stock hsf. This is on a k7s5a with 128meg of crucial pc133.

My duron 1 gig does 1375 110 x 12.5 on an Asus A7V-E. Thats with 1 stick generic PC 133 and 1 stick Crucial PC133. With a Volcano 2 temps are 32 C and 45 under load running at 7 volts.

FSB is at 110(220)/143(286).
Cheers

i thought that the front speed bus means the bus between the processor and the ram, isn't that right?😕
so the fsb u have is 110 or 143?
could anyone explain this to me
i thought always for ex. that 100mhz quadpumped in the p4 bus means 400mhz memory clock and also 400 fsb and the 133--->533
