Duron temp. question

I have a Duron 650 clocked to 750 running on an Abit KT7. The core voltage is at default 1.5 The system has been running very stable for about 3 weeks now. My CPU temp registered on the VIA hardware monitor averages 89f. When I open sisoft sandra it shows a cpu temp of 127f. What a difference....Does anyone know how sisoft measures the temp or which would be considered more accurate. Like most others with the abit board I had to slightly bend the thermistor under the cpu in order for it to fit in the socket. I don't know if it is touching the core or not. Regardless, the difference between the temp measurements is eyeopening and concerning. Thanks in advance....

Trust the Via hardware monitor. Sandra is notorious to misreporting cpu temps.
