Ok now i know this is gonna sound wierd, i dunno whats going on, please read and try to help. My system will no longer boot with the 9X multiplier. It did b4 but not anymore, i have a duron 700, it was overclocked. Now it wont run at 9X100 = 900Mhz, however it will run fine at 8.5X107 = 909Mhz, it will run at every multiplier up to 9X but not 9X, but it would b4. figure that out, BTW i have a MSI Pro2A. Thanks!
 
Re-do the pencil trick. SImilar thing happened to me. I thought people were wrong when they recommended that, but they were right. Apparently, I had done it just a little bit not good enough.

Can't argue with the man till after you try it.

I had the same issue. I went to using a more "lasting" solution in rear window defogger repair carefully dabbed on with a sharp matchstick. Not a lick of trouble now.
 
Hehe. I know the feeling. 🙂 And every time you have to take the stupid heatsink off, you're risking chipping the chip again.. Good luck. I'll be really surprised if it's anything else, because, like I said, I had almost the same problem, and like you, didn't believe that was it, but surely enough, it was.

Fumiup, what component in the repair kit are you using??? I've hear of the pencil trick along with a couple others, but this is a new one; more info would be appreciated.

ok, so it worked 😀 running 9.5X105=997Mhz now 😀 you couldnt blame me for not believing you can you 😀 I think i will go the defogger route as soon as my local auto parts store gets one in, they were out, its the only reason i used a pencil in the first place.
