Duron OC Going in Wrong Direction

I'm using an Abit board and an 880 Duron. Did the pencil thing and then tried to go 9.5X100. I posted at 750! Tried 9.0X100 and posted at 700! Weird! Also, does anyone know of anyone breaking off the plastic HS clip holder on the Abit processor mtg pad. It seems ok for now but my interative approach to OC has me removing it quite often.

Shouldn't fiddle around too much with the CPU/Socket since the cpu is very delicate.. your Duron maybe locked?
 
The bridges were not all closed, pencil it again. Actually, I recommend using conductive ink/paint instead, it's permanent, and allowed me a faster oc.
