Duron/KT7 Overclocking

I got an OEM 700 Mhz Duron and an Abit KT7. I would like to overclock it, but I heard the multiplier is locked. Should I just adjust the FSB speed, or should I attempt to unlock it using this technique.

for what it's worth, I've used the "pencil trick" to overclock with the following results (on an Abit KT7 mobo):

Duron 600 --> 900MHz
Duron 700 --> 1083MHz
T-Bird 750 --> 927MHz

Edit: The above are OEM cpu's.

When you say "pencil trick" you're referring to the conductive pen mentioned in the link I posted, right? Where did you get the pen?

You can use a conductive pen. Some swear by the product used to repair automobile rear window defoggers. I literally used a mechanical pencil. If you do a search here on AnandTech you'll find plenty of threads on it.
