Duron FSB problems?

Just got a Duron 600 which will run at 950 no problems (9.5 x 100) but if I change the FSB at all, it starts locking up when running the "adventure" test in 3dmark 2000

It doesnt seem to be a Clock speed problem as I have tried it at lower multipliers.

It will run the test at an FSB of 101, but nudge it to 102 and it locks up every time.

I have tried dropping it right down to 8.0 x 102 and it still locks.

I dont think tis a voltage problem either, becuase at 9.5 x 100 it will run fine at 1.725 Vcore and 3.40 I/O, yet I have taken it right up to 1.85 Vcore and 3.60 I/O and it locks when trying an FSB of 102 or higher.

Could temperature really stop me using a Higher FSB even with a multiplier way below what the CPU can do?

My Current setup is:
Abit KT7
Duron 600
128megs Cas-3 ram
Globalwin FEP32
Idle temp = 48c
Full Load = 52c

What are your RAM settings? Try setting it to CAS3 medium timing or below, then see if you can up the FSB. If you have 4 way interleave selected, try it at 2. Just play around with the RAM settings and see if it helps. I have had my KT7 stable at a 115 FSB, and currently run at 109. Good quality RAM helps a great deal also, what kind do you have?

EDIT: Your temps look pretty high for using an FOP32, even with the VIA monitor. Make sure that the heatsink is installed properly, and good thermal grease is applied. What kind of case cooling do you have? Hopefully you have at least an intake and exhaust fan. If not, look into it.

the Kt133 chipsets are notorious for not being able to run at higher fsb speeds, and you may have just gotten a crappy chip which won't do over 100

I know it can actually do the FSB's over 101

Im actually in windows at the moment at 7.0 x 115 just to test it..

It just seems that as soon as I get to the "adventure" test in 3dmark 2000 it locks up with an FSB of over 101, even tho i can get into windows at much higher FSB's

Im starting to wonder if my temps are just that little bit too high for it to cope when it goes full load

don't forget the temp reading is always off, usually wayyyy off. so if it says 52c, it could easily be 62c. what temp is it showing at default voltage?

Ill let the system cool down overnight (its like 1 am here) and then check in the morning after leaving it a little while to settle down.
