Duron Default Voltage and Multiplier Problem

I have an Epox 8kta3, as with all KT133A mobo it suffer from the pre-bios Vcore being set to the CPU default, which means and overclocked CPU will not always boot. To fix this I changed the Default Vcore of my Duron 750 to 1.8v by joining the appropriate L7 bridges. This fixes the problem, but cuases another: Now I cannot change my multiplyer setting in the bios. When I do so system crashes when I try to save setting. And when it reboots the multiplyers is still default and the bios gives the error message "CPU overclocked fail." any one know of a solution to this problem.
