ok, lots to type here. first, i am trying to OC my duron. its at 800 MHz currently, and id like it to hit at least 1GHz. im split between a hedgehog w/ delta or an alpha pal 6035w/ delta. my other problem with that is...i dont know if those are even the best kinds of HSF out there. my case is open, all the sides are off, and i have a big ole house fan blowing on the entire thing, it works better. but that isnt an issue, i just brought that up so anyone who could help me here can take that into consideration. i would like to keep my CPU from burning up and it still be able to OC to, like i said, at least 1GHz. any help would be much appreciated.

second, i want to keep my GPU cooler. i have a voodoo5 5500 and you could fry an egg on the circuit board. what kinds of HSF can i get for that? i know nothing about anything that has to do with GPU cooling, so i really need a lot of help here.

third, which i forgot to mention in the post, i need some help keeping my pro2-a cooler. is there anything i can put on the northbridge? some people have said a blorb, but i dunno anything about that. will it keep it cool? does it help more than the original heatsink for overclocking? and remember, thats the whole point of my computer... overclocking hehe. i know this is a lot of problems, but hey, i need help and this is the place to go. =)

Thanks

Before you invest in a new hsf, does your chip even post at 1000. Heat ususually is not the reason why a cpu won't post.

im not having a prob with the cpu posting, it will go that high, i just dont want to have to scrap it off my board with a utility knife after it melts to the circuit board =) all im having a prob with is overheating.
the board is an MSI K7T Pro2-A, so it will go as high as 1GHz.

Thanks

the cpu is OEM, i had some little POS heatsink on it. the stuff im looking for here is the names of all the cooling devices i need to keep the cpu, gpu, and northbridge cooled.

Thanks

For the V5 look here V5 Kit and go for the artic upgrade. As for CPU cooling this thing looks impresive but very expensive .Big HS the other thing being a bolt through you dont want to put in on more than once.;)

TTT

i still am wanting to know what is best to use for each place, all of you have given me great ideas of what to use, but i am looking for a finalized answer in which to use for each piece of my computer.
1) cpu
2) gpu
3) chipset

so far ive been told either a hedgehog or alpha something or other for number 1
the blorb or a v5 kit has been mentioned to me about number 2
also, the blorb, as ive been told, will work for number 3 (will the blorb fit on a pro2-a chipset? i looked on mine and it didnt look like it would...too many friggin transistors)

if any of this seems good or maybe you have another suggestion, please tell.

one other thing...i dunno where to buy most of this =)

Thanks

I am running a 1 gig AMD TBird at 1.250 gig on the Pro2a. I am using the FOP32-1 Global Win coler and running at about 45C under load. I tried a FOP38 and can run it at 1.313 but the noise is a little to loud for the sight performance increase.

I originally put a Blue Orb on the chipset, with no problems. You may have to "break off" the mounting tabs of the orb as they can get in the way of the CPU cooler. Its a kind of a tite fit if you running memory heatsinks on the back of a GEforce as I am.
