I'll not should you want the Morgan Core i think thats the newer core and the newer core don't overclock that very but i'll not should..but i know that the old Durons overclock better then the new Durons and i think they started put the new core in on the some of the 1Ghz and up to 1.3Ghz you can take a look on www.pricewatch.com and see if you can find one.. I hope its helps

did you use a language translator to do this?? ... your english is a bit off ... thats comendable that you went through the trouble of helping someone in another language !! .. kudos to you

Sorry!!:| I'm at work and i was typing fast for my boss wouldn't see me...next time I will not help anyone... (i didn't see you add anything to help out).. :|

hehe dont get so pissy 🙂

all durons 950mhz and lower are based on the spitfire core
all durons 1ghz or faster are based on the morgan core

there isnt any speed of duron where you have the choice of either morgan or spitfire

they all have aluminum interconnects so the speed really cant get that high... thats why 600mhz durons could overclock 1.1ghz and 950mhz durons could only overclock to about 1.1ghz

the morgan core is a little faster then the spitfire at equal clock speed, but its really not much faster (although the morgan does have sse so if you use apps that can take advantage of sse you will get a good boost with the morgan)

just remember that some of the older motherboards that dont support the new athlonXP's also dont support the morgan... for example my server is an asus a7v, it used to run a 650mhz duron... when i went to upgrade i got a 1ghz duron, but it wouldnt work, not even with the newest bios... the duron worked fine in other boards though... i ended up upgrading my server to a 1.3ghz athlon

Boonesmi you still got that board ?? i run an athlon xp 1700+ in my A7v i am using the 1008 bios version
weird that it wouldn't support the newer duron for you
did you use jumper or bios settings to set everything ?
it wouldn't boot for me if i tryed to use the bios settings
think it has something to do with the reading of the cpuid at boot

your running a xp1700+ on an a7v? what do you have the fsb and the multiplier set at? cause the a7v only supports 100mhz fsb and the kt133 chipset is well known for not overclocking much at all, about the highest ive ever seen a board get was 115mhz fsb

but my a7v is an early revision and nope doesnt support the morgan... it wont even post

I got it running at 1.1ghz @1.4v
100fsb 11clock mult
soon as i get a better psu i will overclock it as far as i can
yeah the board isn't perfect for overclocking but i am having fun
mine wouldn't post either if it was set to jumper mode

hehe mine is old, it doenst even have the built in thermometer to show the cpu temp (it comes with the temp probe) revision 1.01
