ok, I have been saving my extra scratch for some time, and I am planning on upgrading my system, and as I have been tooling around, I have some new concerns.
I am planning on purchasing as follows:

amd duron 800,
ddr mobo, hopefully 6 pci.
256 133mghz ddr ram.
I am hoping to oc these few purchases to a gigahertz, which means I will have to buy 133mghz ddr (266) so that I can overclock the mobo. (I have read something like a 122 after multiplier adjustment)

1. I recently heard that amd is removing access to the L1 bridges on all chips. Is it still possible to get an unlocked duron? if so, where do I look, is there a diff serial, and should I buy now, or wait until the ddr mobo's come out?

2. I have heard of many people using something other that a pencil on their bridges, and that itworx well, it seems popular, any idea what this is and where I can get it?

3. has anyone had any expierience oc'ing ddr mobo's with ddr ram, and a duron? are they compatible at all?

thanx for any help.

i don't have ddr mem and i don't overclock my mobo...but my 700 duron runs at a gig no problem, and i use loctite to unlock (unloc..hehe) my duron, it'll run you about 7 bucks at pepboys...
