why is this temp so high?
i just installed a fan on the radiator, the thing is no really cold, and the water in the tank is cold, i can feel it. before i had the fan everything was hot.
and......the temps are still the same.......!!!!!!!!
it must be that i dont have a good connection between the block and the CPU, but i put that thing so tight on the core, im afraid not to crack the poor Duron.
do you guys have the block really tight?
i have some of that good grease on it, not too much, just a bit, but the temps are not as i expected.
give me some advice peeps

is the kt7 socket-thermistor in good contact with the CPu back?

what is your ambient case temp?

Those temps are really bad even with a 2.00vcore overclocked with my 1900+ I never go over 35 what kinda setup do you have and you prob are not making good contact also be sure to use a [L=shim]http://www.ocmodshop.com/shim.asp
 
Yeah, watercooling is one instance of where you need a shim. They really seem to help. I use a lexan hold down that uses springs. Make the clamp from parts at your local hardware store. Tons cheaper than ordering one. I like springs that are pretty hard to compress, they seem to work the best for me.
 
ambient temp is 25
case temp is 30
i suppose a shim is some clamping device
so i should try and clamp it tighter...you guys say. Im scared not to crack the cpu

guys, guys, did you know that AIM alone! raises 10 celsius of temp?
when im not using it, and browse, and use other software, my temp never gets higher than 35,
when i use AOL instant messenger (alone), temps go to 45
and yes, clamping the block tighter, saved me bout ~3 degs.
now my temps are 30 -35, 45 when i use AOL inst messenger, and 50 max, when I play some games
water cooling dropped the max from 60 (playng games with air cooling) to 50 C.
good, good, good,
now i got the hang of it,
time to get a faster processor
