i was messing around because my multiplier wouldn't go past 7.5, it would reset to 7x100 (700mhz), but then i set the multiplier to 10x with 101 (or 102fsb) and then it wouldn't post. Then i couldn't reset it by holding "INSERT", and then reseting my CMOS jumper didn't work (it worked earlier last night), then i poped the battery off the motherboard (everything was disconnected), putting it back in 5 min later, and then it still wouldn't post. It doesn't beep or anything. I have tried erasing the graphite from the L1 bridges and doing it again, and my Core is in perfect shape. The computer turns on, no beeps, no post, HD spins, fan spins, thats all. I tried cleaning with alcohol but didn't help. My computer worked nicely before all of this, it was at 7.5x120fsb. Could i have fried my duron when i set it at 10x multiplier, or could i have fried my motherboard (abit kt7-raid)? Thanks for the commends or suggestions.

for the ABIT KT7, you don't even have to un-do the PS. Just move the jumper over for a few seconds like the manual says, and then put it back and turn on computer. If that doesn't work (happened to me once) just unplug, and take out the battery for around 4-5 minutes.

hope this helps!

I had similar problems before. After redoing the L1s and put back the CPU the system runs fine at the default settings(make sure you pull the CPU out of the socket at least for seconds). It seems to me that you did not do a good job in connecting the L1s even before this problem happened. I would suggest get a 10X magnifier to do the job and make sure the grove and the copper wires are covered with lead.
