i have a Duron 700 with stock heatsink/fan combo(5000RPM).. my motherboard is a cheap KT133 from PCPartnet:( .. since i have a cheap mb, im only allowed to change the FSB upto 112Mhz in 2Mhz increments, and im only allowed to monitor its voltages(+5, +12 & CPU COre Voltage), and 2 FANS...:(

now my question is, what HSF combo can i use without having to worry about its operating temperatur when i start to overclock this baby? :D i dont wanna use thse expensive water cooling projects.. just plain heatsink&fan combo.. and any suggestions to how far i can go with this CPU without messing with its Warranty(they only check on the stickers dats covering those Bridges)...

pls.. any help would be appreciated...:D

as you may know kt133 mainboards dont overclock fsb very well, most ive seen wont even reach 110mhz stable, but assuming you can get 110mhz x 7multiplier it only gives you 770mhz which isnt much of an overclock (im not putting it down :) just saying its not going to generate much more heat then your stock 700, and less heat then a stock 800mhz)

that being said you probably wont need to worry about getting much of a heatsink, a cheap one should work.

if you want to really overclock the ah heck you will need to change the multiplier (you said your motherboard doesnt support multiplier adjustment) but... you still can change the multiplier if you do it on the cpu itself, its a good bit of work and you might screw up your duron, but if you want to try here is the info on how to set the bridges link
