I am building a new PC soon. I will be purchasing parts for the next month as I can afford. My question is....

Should I buy a Duron now (because AMD is going to rip some very OC friendly pins)
or wait till prices come down more?

Does anyone have any idea when thes pin ripped CPU's will be hitting the streets?

I would usualy buy the CPU and memory last, with the Video card just before, but I would REALY like to get a processor that I can overclock.

Also, should I get the 650 or 700?? I would like to hit 1G, but wouldn't we all?
Which one seems the friendliest? It will live in a KT7R.

Buy the Duron now before no more Overclockable ones are left!

I think the 650 (around $80-85) is a good choice. If you want the 700, you'll have to fork out an additional $40. That's half the price of the 650! Not worth it.

My 650 (on KT7Raid) can do 950 just fine. Haven't done 1Gz though (I've seen a post by some guy claiming that he could hit 1016 Mhz with a 600 Duron).

BTW: My KT7R costs $151 at www.isquaredinc.com

I got it within 3 days so it's pretty good. I've heard good stuff about this company too.

buy a Duron 700 now while you still can. its up to you if you can afford 700 then buy it, if not go with 650.
