duron 600@900 not performing well

I just installed everything, Asus A7V motherboard, Duron 600 @ 900 processor, Inno3D Geforce 2 MX video card, 256 kingston pc 100 ram and I am getting 4100 3dmarks in win3dmark when others with similar configs are getting anywhere from 5000 to 5800. Is there anything I can be doing wrong? Thanks

Don't use or go by the 3dMark benchmark. That is the worse benchmark you can use. It is never consistant.

Yeah, use a real benchmark like Quake3 Arena, Unreal Tournament, Expendable, or even specViewPerf. Basically, anything Anand uses in his own benchmarks.

???

office boy, Durons use a 100MHz FSB. 900 can only be achieved by 9 x 100MHz. Stability is greatly affected by FSBs over 110MHz+.

That is true Yucky, But the memory can use a +33 Mhz bus, that combined with fast memory timings and 4 way interleave will greatly affect performance for the better (of course).

The fsb and the memory speed are semi-independent of each other in the kx133 and kt133 mobos. You can, and should, run the fsb at 100 mhz or more and the memory at fsb+33 mhz

edit dang, you beat me to it office boy.
