Wewp. You know of course this is pre-tested overclocked and guaranteed to run at 1000mghz. How many of you guys actually can run at 1ghz? Not alot looking at overclockers.com cpu database. why pay $60 for a chip that will MAY do 900-1000. May only do 800 or 850. (which is suck).

The duron is only a good chip if it does 950 or 1000 or more!

This is not a deal!
The rest of us on this board already bought ours from buy.com for $70-$75.
Now that was a deal!!

you will not get the speed. i guarantee it.
i bought from them..check my link duron@1000...you know what it works at 945.
now don't tell me about how i'm complaining after getting a 945 chip.
if you bought a 900mhz computer from dell and they sent you an 800mhz computer, would you be satisfied?
no, ofcourse not.

overclockerz store sucks, they're guarantees are factitious...they suck and have a resellerrating of 0 for god's sake!
Resellerrating for the Overclockerz store- 0

funny how people will still buy from them just because they see the numbers 1000MHz and only 119 on a webpage.

okay. thats more substantial. The link above was some whiney all caps thing i don't read all caps. So you're saying they are defrauding people by selling chips that don't deliver as promise. I'll steer clear of them.

Thunderbird 700 chips, which can often overclock to 1 GHz, and which are as fast as a Duron@1G when running at maybe 900 MHz, start at about this price. OEM Durons are now <$50 (before shipping, of course). Check out sharkyextreme's price guide.

These are some truly pathetic bastards.

Best regards,

LOL, that's pathetic. I hate how lame some of these internet business owners can get. I saw several low rated sites with one guy going around spreading good reviews. The owner of Overclockerz deserves his punishment.

do Durons/TBirds require a 300-watt P/S? I'm leaning towards building an AMD-based PC this time. Thanks.

No they DO NOT "REQUIRE" 300W although it might be nice to have depending on the components you have in your system such as # of harddrives and CDRom/CDRWs.

Many people are mistaken on Wattage requirement. If you only have a harddrive, a CDROM, a videocard, a soundcard, a modem, and a NICs, 150W PS does the job perfectly. Duron/Athron require more than PIII/Celeron in general but it doesn't mean you need 300W PS. If you have a good 235 or 250W PS, you should have more than enough power.

To backup his point, I am currently running my Duron 900 (12x8) with 1 cdrom, 1 dvd, 1 5400 hd, 1 7200 hd, 2 80mm fans (one in and one out), 1 60mm fan (out), hard drive cooler (in), slotfan (for video card, out) and about 4 to 5 cards.

Running 100% stable!!

Edit:
All on a 250W ps

My Duron 600 runs 1GHz stable with the retail fan and no extra cooling. I am going to take the temp down next and see if I can push it further. :)

Bohemian you are a lucky or a lying b@stard...lol!

I've seen a couple of people state they are getting 1 gig out of their Duron 600. While I can't deny it I can whine about it.

What are the markings on your chip? Do you recall the week? You probably got a binned down 700 you lucky sh!t.

Once I hard mod my board for more voltage then I should hit 1,000 but the temps will be interesting.

Rigor2, it is unlikely you'll get a duron that WON'T do 950.

I highly doubt he got to 1000 mhz with a retail heatsink. That's crap unless he had the case open and was blowing fan on top of the heatsink.

I got mine case closed with Global win fop-32-1 and fan exausting and I get a average temp of 111'F=idle, 118'F=full load @ 1.85 volts.

Anything higher than 1 gigaherts runs games and SETI but crashes 3dmark2000. So I'm happily running a gigihertz duron with a pos Voodoo 3. I really need a new vid card!
