Was there ever a story as to what that was? I distinctly hear them in the distance..

Since I was in a gym underground with headphones on I know it was not just background noise. Anyone know what that was from? Or just random siren...
 
Yup, I went to the inauguration, but I ordered that my entourage stuff wax in their ears, and tie me to the antenna of my limo.

Apparently a woman was killed when she fell into the tracks after being accidentally pushed by the huge crowds at the metro (Chinatown station - red line). I heard from several metro police officers when I got off at Metro Center stop.

I was the on the orange line and the driver kept saying how someone was "ill" or "sick" at Metro center - one stop away from Chinatown stop (there were numerous delays). Perhaps, she was transported after the accident and died there.

To answer your question: Well, there were a lot of cop cars and bunch of black suvs, some ambulances moving around the mall. They turned the sirens on to get the pedestrians to clear the road.


EDIT: She didn't die. A police officer jumped down and saved her life.

Yeh, DC has one of the highest murder rates in the U.S.
I would think it was just your average day in the nation's capital to hear a siren.

Hate Did you say hate . Ilove america . I simply asked the odds of Black man killed in DC . If I meant something else I would have said it.

I am doing everthing in my power to save America not destroy. It will come down to choices . America will make that choice.
 
This is very normal for major events. During the Olympics you often heard them too. When you have 10's of thousands of emergency vehicles operating, you are bound to get people using their sirens for one reason or another. My guess would be a medical emergency in the crowd or clearing his motorcade route.

The odds of being killed by a firearm in DC are significantly higher than being killed in Iraq. Mainly because of explosives used over there instead, but still. That's for seriouslyness.
