Yes, it also takes AAA. Got the last one at my Rite Aid. They do in fact charge in 15 min. I charged 4 sets on my AA's and they took approximately 15 minues each. Rite Aid also has on-line rebate submission that supposedly takes 2-3 weeks to get your check, or you can mail it in for the 4-6 week wait period. Just remember that you can only request one check from the Rite Aid rebate form per rebate period. The August rebate directory is good on purchases uo to September 2nd and needs to be submitted by September 16th. So if you have other stuff you want that has rebates attached, you need to do it with one check request.

They are NiMH, but I guess this charger isn't like the IC-3 and does charge all batteries at 15 minutes. Not sure of how good that can be....

This battery charger is not to be confused with the first 15 minute charger the Ray-O-Vac I-C^3 here which charged in 15 minutes with special proprietary 15 minute batteries, but other NIMH batteries in a slower charge speed. This Duracell charger charges all standard type (not the I-C^3) NiMH batteries in 15 minutes. Along with this Duracell charger, there are now a few other brands of 15 minute chargers that charge any brand of standard NImH batteries.

It's a 15 minute charger with no speed adjustment on the charger to do what you are asking.
I have charged 4 different sets of 4 standard NiMH AA's batteries with three different capacities, (1 set of 2600 MAh AA's by Ultralast, 1 set of 2400 MAh AA's by Duracell and 2 sets of 2500 MAh AA's by Duracell) all in approximately 15 minutes of charge time for each set of 4. This charger shouldn't be confused with the 15 minute charger(s) that use proprietary batteries to achieve the 15 minute charge time. This is a standard charger that charges standard-type NiMH in 15 minutes.

Also, what kind of batteries are these? Lithium, NiHM or...

The batteries that come with it are 2400 MAh NiMH AA's

2400s are pretty good. Isn't 15 min charges very hard on batteries? Thats why rayovac had special proprietary batteries. It was some sort of regulator.

Yeah, 2400 MAh are just fine, especially if it is a good brand of battery. I can get hundreds of shots with my Canon A620 with these 2400's. You may be right about 15 minute charges being hard on these batteries, but I think it's too new of a product to know how much life it actually takes off the battery. NiMH's are supposed to last 500 to 1000 recharges under proper use and recharging depending who you believe. Even if these cut the life in half that's still a lot of battery life for me.

as for the 15 minute charge, i've heard it doesn't really top up the battery at 15 minutes, but well, as long as it also trickle charges it doesn't matter. the 15 minute option is nice for last minute chargin u know as for being hard on the battery, juts dont leave it charging under a pillow even if lose a few charges worth of lifetime, the cost per charge of batteries these days is so small that its not worth worrying about.

the werid thing is how similar the duracell and energizer 15minute chargers are. even have the same 4x more photos label on the front. its like they are just both relabeling some other companies stuff? inoticed it earlier this year when these things started hitting the stores. similar look/packeging and price


but yea, 2400mha is not bad at all. assuming the rating is true, but dont think it would be that far off. the lower models come with 1800mha
