Durable Thumb Drive

I'm looking for a durable Thumb Drive for my keychain. I've owned 2 PNY Attache's and both have broken at the loop where the key chain connects. It's made of fairly thin plastic in that area, and my keys are always attacked to my belt loop with one of those giant climbing hooks.

I'm not exactly sure how they break, I don't think I've ever sat directly on it and I'm only 165lbs. Anyway are there any durable reasonable priced Flash Drives, preferably something with a strong metal loop so this doesn't keep happening? Looking for something in 8 or 16 GB size.

yeah, sandisk makes these metal ones. they had a video where a truck ran over it and it ran. the cruzer titanium series.

i had an 8gb one for a while, the only thing that broke it was an ex gf never returning it.

i think thumb drives with a retractable plug are far superior to those with a cap.

caps are designed to be lost.

agreed. i have an 8GB and its the best flash drive ive ever owned.

keep in mind though, that the current cruzer titaniums are cheap (not in price, but materials wise). they arent made out of liquidmetal casing, but of a cheap plastic with silver coating on it. the drive led is now orange instead of blue (they used to be blue to be different from the cruzer micros - now they are the same), and they just feel cheap. trust me, i bought so many hoping for an original one but they just dont make them anymore. i got really lucky on finding an original 8GB.

I looked at the reviews over at consumersearch.com
http://www.consumersearch.com/usb-flash-drives

They say the Corsair Flash Survivor is the most durable, but the keychain loop is attached to the cap instead of the thumb drive itself. Great design... if my cap comes loose instead of just losing the cap, I lose my entire flash drive...

The Sandisk's casing looks durable, but like I said before... mine keeps breaking at the loop that connects to the keychain, not the body. And the miniature keychain ring they give you looks like it would break easily being it's so thin.

It looks like the Corsair Flash Voyager is the best bet for me. Can anyone tell me if at the loop where the keychain connects... is that metal under the rubber or is it just rubber? I was kinda hoping for a thick metal loop, is it at least durable rubber?

I thought that the whole point of the Cruiser Titanium was that it was actually made out of Titanium. Say it ain't so.

The Corsair Survivor is the most durable one I've used. Mine has been through the works. I've dropped it in water, stepped on it many times, sat on it many times, slammed it in a door once, left it out in the snow when it fell out of my pocket, taken it into high radiation areas at work (>99 mrem/hr), given it static electric shocks by accident, have it dangling on my keychain where it takes some abuse, etc. It hasn't shit out on me yet.

I love my survivor

I think mine has a loop on both the cap and flash drive, and you get soem lame but yet cool corsair dogtags with it and a chain

I want a SUPER TALENT Pico. Nickel plated would be cool but I think they are discontinued. Just by looking at it you can tell it's solid and elegant. The bloke ^^^ even sent it through the wash.
