duplicating a hard drive

Hopefully this is posted in the correct place..

I produce music and would like to have 2 different work stations in seperate locations. I would like for both to have exactly the same software. I have older pluggins that are no longer available and would not be able to install on the newer workstation thus working on the same project would not yeild the same results. If I create a copy of one of the hard drives would it create mobo or bios type conflicts seeing as the hardware is not the same? If so what are my options? Any suggestions?

You would probably have serious problems with doing this. It is also illegal to run the same copy of Windows on 2 machines.

If you still have the original plugin downloads, it should be no problem putting them on a cd or dvd, then copying them to the new rig. The EULA's for the plugins would determine if it is legal or not.
