Holy SHIT!
😱

Dude! I just watched the demo video. Did any of you guys see that?
They didnt take inspiration from Dungeon Keeper. THEY FLAT OUT RIPPED IT OFF!!

I seriously hope they paid EA for the rights to it, cuz if not they are gonna get sued.

IF EA were going to sue or had the capacity to do so, I would have expected them to have done so by now. They seem to be aggressively protective of their rights and to sit back does not seem to be their way.

Anyway, off to find this demo video 🙂

I was hoping this would be good, because I really like DK2 and the only thing that has come close is Evil Genius (which is awesome if you haven't played it)

I bought evil genius because i thought it was like DK and HATED it, I didn't realize there weren't other levels, that it was just one big level.

The youtube video looks sweet!!! I really like the sound of the new stuff that was added. I think the only thing that could hold this back is performance/bugs and/or shitty AI.

I found a demo for this game, but it's in German which I don't understand which makes it really hard to do anything. Why no english?

my friend let me play it some more, glad I didn't pre-order, it's a "spiritual successor" to DK for sure but doesn't hold true to the same game play by any means

Downloading now.
And not having a demo through Steam is both stupid and annoying.
I used to wonder why they didnt require demo's or try harder to get them. I guess they feel they are making more than enough money that they just dont freaking need them.
Which is probably true. I've been guilty of buying stuff I never played. Usually get screwed over. Test Drive 2 is a recent example of my carelessness.

For whatever reason I've noticed a LOT more demo's in german than english. I guess as a society they are more likely to ignore a game if theres no demo.
I wish Americans were more like that. We might actually have more demo's.

OK, I cant see the mouse. WTF?

Also, the intro video is directly ripped off from DK1. If these guys dont get sued it will be a miracle.

Well 1) The developer/publisher is German, 2) the German PC gaming market is pretty large, PC gaming is popular over there, so having a German demo isn't too surprising, although it is stupid not to have other languages if they want to sell to a wider audience.

Alright, on my other computer the mouse isnt visible but when I moved it around you could kinda tell where it was.

I didnt care for the game play, but I suggest you guys try it for yourself. Its not enough like Dungeon Keeper. You need to do most of the work with your one special hero, and he is plenty busy. You open up dungeon portals to let humans in, you bribe them with gold and hopefully kill them before they escape with your gold. How do you get gold?
I have no freakin idea. You only get one GP for each section of dungeon you dig out, and near as I can tell the humans dont bring much, if any with them. I never found any gold veins and I only started with a limited amount of gold.
The only rooms you can build are prisons. Everything else must be found. You have to make pentagrams (which supply monsters) to control area. But they require population points which are in very limited supply. Trying to figure out how to cover the map to unlock goodies is a pain in the ass.

But overall it feels like a huge ripoff of DK. Good luck to the company before they are sued into oblivion.

I didn't have any glitch problems. But some of the design decisions are just bad. The dig command just doesn't seem well done and could be a lot easier. It seemed like I was randomly clicking until I finally got the wall to turn green. It wasn't very clear that my evil dude was actually casting the pentagram spell that takes 15 seconds. Some sort of graphic indicator that you're channeling and/or count down would have been good.

Maybe I'll buy this game when it's on sale for like $10.

ugh, this is dumb...

i got the demo and started playing. it's sort of like a tower defense style game (which I hate with a passion) with a few added things. so the gold is right next to the exit and you have to kill the heroes before they leave, but you don't get much time. plus other things are happening, like skeleton invasions that you have to kill.

it's a retarded game.

They did. It was called Dungeons. And it sucked ass.

Just like they ripped off GTA, The Sims, and Test Drive Unlimited, and that ended up sucking too.

I think he means like just change the graphics a bit and keep everything else the same. I can load up DK or DK2 and have fun right now...
