It is fairly big and heavy, and you wanted it overnight, that is going to be expensive. Is $85 to much, probably. The good news is you have a choice, and you made it. I really doubt anyone in this thread is "too dense" to figure out you didn't pay these high shipping costs, and I'm sure these same people would also not pay this much for shipping. Amazon is a huge success, far from a joke. Ripping them for high shipping costs on expedited shipments on an internet forum, well, that might be a joke.

Let's see....I'm going to compare standard shipping at THESE places with OVERNIGHT shipping at Amazon. OMGWTFBBQ??? Amazon is fsking more expensive for overnight??? WTF RAPE?!!?!?!
Guess what asswipe? Lowes is different. They have their own shipping trucks. They don't send refrigerators via UPS.

Hahah, this is hilarious!!! Just FYI, amazon dynamically calculates your shipping price based on warehouse location (yes, we do have a warehouse in Reno, but that warehouse may not carry your speakers) and your location. The value that you are charged is exactly what the shipping carrier charges amazon, and since amazon has special deals with most shipping carriers I am virtually 100% sure that's the lowest possible price to ship your speakers from said warehouse to your home. Now if other sites are charging you less it could because they have the item in a warehouse that is closer to your house.
Now you're wondering why people are flaming you. Because, honestly, you don't come out as too bright in your post. You made a flame post without knowing or understanding most of the facts. When first few people brought that up to you (fairly nicely, I should add) instead of realizing your mistake and backing off you continue to defend your point and continue to call those people stupid. WHen even more people added that you're wrong, you went off the board. So yeah, no wonder this thread is turning into pawnage of the year.
