I hope this is the beginning of the end of his strangle grip on the GOP. If he goes after any one them for crossing him on the they just pull the "support the troops" card.
I expect the majority of the former GOP will go more extreme to cater to the Trump degenerate mentality of his followers, while still calling themselves Republicans, while a much smaller amount of former Republicans may try to start a new party of sorts.

I'm always amazed that somehow the American conservative movement has managed to encompass both the "Israel at all costs" faction and the anti-semite "Jews control everything and must be stopped" faction.

Because it's loaded up with giveaways to the Rich? The GOP wouldn't have agreed to any of it w/o that. You know it's true.
And onerous new copyright laws.

Yup as I said has a provision for up to 5 years in jail for illegal streaming.
When can we expect a google engineer or executive to go to jail for streaming copyrighted material.
Who are we kidding no big company executive or worker will ever go to jail, it will be the small business or guy doing some neighborhoods streaming.

They love right-wing authoritarian governments. They dislike the religion and the people. Not terribly complicated.

You do realize the reason the love Israel is because it is one of the steps required to stay the end times. It had nothing to do with liking or supporting Jews. No the Jews are all going to hell after the rapture.

Yep. The Evangelicals need Israel as part of their greater rapture idealization of the future.

Ardent Evangelicals are completely useless. They simply don't exist in reality when we have all the information available to us at our fingertips. Not like the old days when you had to wait for the news to arrive by horseback from the castle from a wizard explaining the thunder in the sky. It's all right there in textbooks and wikipedia. They willfully choose to ignore it.

Total goners.

The MAGAts love the military. Many of them are in it. They want it well funded.

I don't disagree with that, but I expect the GOP will support will change the defense spending bill to include what the child wants, which from what I remember is some sort of change regarding the civil immunity of tweeter and the like.

I also fully expect another government shutdown, which will wreck havoc on the vaccine rollout. It will also be the second intentional and absolutely unnecessary shutdown caused by Trump-and the last one was a long one.

Just think we are sill facing another 3+ weeks of this childish, self-centered behavior-and it will only get worse.

That doesn't spit out the other 1400 though.

I just don't want him to get his way on 230 regardless of what the end effect of it works out to be.

The Senate Dems fucked up...they COULD have at least tried to swap support for the veto override for the $2000 stimulus checks...

WTF kinda alternate universe am I in when P@N is bagging on a President for vetoing the annual defense spending bill. One of the if not the most bloated spending bills that annually passes Congress and one of the most hated annual spending bills. Posts are getting thumbs up because Congress overrode the veto....what in the actual fuck is going on....

And now I'm reading a little bit of animosity because he is threating to veto the Covid relief bill. I've read so many comments by members that pissed and moaned about this bill because it didn't give enough relief to your average Americans but now it some how magically does because the President is thinking about vetoing it????

He already signed the COVID stimulus bill.

The Defense Budget may be filled with bloat, but the solution isn't to just cut it willy-nilly. The solution is to decide what our strategic positioning in the world should be, figure out what we need to do to move us in that direction, and then cut and fund as needed. But that's never going to happen, since everyone gets bogged down in the Jobs Program of the Defense Budget. Just look at all the screaming when a branch tries to retire dated weapons systems designed for the wars of the yesteryear.

He already signed the COVID relief bill, which was embedded in the Omnibus spending bill. It also seems weird to veto Bill A when you want changes in Bill B, especially when your own representative wast he one negotiating Bill B and demanded the lower value stimulus checks in the first place.

Personally, the bickering over the size of the checks has seemed pretty myopic, as it always misses the fact that the bill contained targeted relief at the people that needed it most - expanded UI, rental assistance, and PPP (to keep people employed, collecting a paycheck, and keeping their employer-sponsored health insurance). The checks are important for some, where gaps need to be bridged, but the discourse has basically framed it as stimulus checks were the only thing being done.

With everything going on now do you think a government shutdown is wise.

The COVID bill is half a load. The guy you should be pissed at is Mitch McConnell but you are willing to give him a pass.

Is that why almost every civilization in history has killed and/or enslaved them...because they were God's chosen people? Chosen for what?

Old testament God was not a nice entity. You could say he chose them and gave them shitty treatment to test their faith. There's many different stories that show what a jealous POS OT God is. Regardless, this is what Christians believe.

Once they started playing with the 2K and 230 and a few other things, it all went out the window. This could all have been done almost unnoticed as it is every other year. Just a blip in the news pages. But nooooo, the Impeached One Term Crybaby had to fuss. That made it all about him and the need to see Mitch and Company slap his hand at least this once.

Meanwhile, among all the chaos he created unnecessarily, he whines about his mannequin wife not getting on magazine covers while ranting about the way she decorated some living space.

Lol ... There are reasons people are questioning The "I've done more for the military ever" Presidents veto. Trump doesn't care about spending and pork. He spends taxpayer funds by the dump truck loads. Trump didn't veto it because its "one of the if not the most bloated spending bills that annually passes Congress" He vetoed it because it wasn't "bloated" enough to include his toddler agenda to destroy Twitter because they are "so unfair to him" and include repeal of section 230. Trump loves his bloat if it has something in it for him and his agenda of retaliation and destruction. Repealing 230 without a plan is a bad path forward. And no plan is always Trumps plan. What will happen is most platforms will become nothing but the equivalent of fermenting bloody diarrhea aka 4chan etc. . After repealing 230, I'd assume Twitter, Facebook might not turn off the lights, but they may fire the moderation staff and let the internet go wild and try to sell as many ads as they can. Then they, and any of the other major social media sites that will have the money for lawyers to fight legal challenges. The sites that would shut down their comments would be smaller sites, like, say, this one.

Most likely though sites like YouTube will switch to studied videos, only allowing approved individuals to post at all. Sites like Twitter or Reddit would shut down, as their entire purpose is user-posted content, which they would no longer be able to host or moderate without exposing themselves to lawsuits in either direction. And who's to say that video games wouldn't be affected? Would text chat and voice chat be eliminated because game devs would be liable for anything a person posted and/or said? It's going to be easier to eliminate a potential issue rather than litigate through it.

But Dollhands Donnie is a dope, and only wants destruction.

The only way for social media to survive w/o 230 is to not moderate content at all. It's the new frontier of propaganda & psyops so of course Trump Co wants to make full use of the potential & so do his Russian friends. Given the chance, they'll make it so Americans can't think straight at all. It's tough when your belief system is based on lies & delusion.

There's more to it. According to modern Christians with dreams of Armageddon in their heads, the nation of Israel has to be restored and the temple rebuilt in order to bring on the end times. That their dear friends the Israels will all be eradicated in these end times is a small price to pay for a front row seat to the rapture and to see all the people they don't like get tossed into the lake of fire.
