DUMBB XP Install question

got my comp to boot up, so im just trying to refresh my xp install so it will work correctly. Its on the E drive and I set the boot to CD so XP will install. The only problem is upon the initial restart, the bios is still set for boot by CD, and if i hit enter to boot from CD it will start all over again, and when i set it to HD cant find a OS (obviously). Ive installed XP and win2k before but cant remember what to do..
mebbe its the nforce 2 bios or something.. please instruct me?

try another fan on that header, or try your fan on another mb.......one of them has to be bad. whatever you do, i wouldn't run that amd without a fan for long😉

not sure about your motherboard, but i don't have my cpu fan connected to the header, i run it through a fanbus. if the motherboard header is your problem, look in bios and see if you can turn off the "cpu fan" error so you can run with the fan plugged into another header, or directly off the psu.

yeah for some reason now when i try another fan header it works, it would power on before when i did that so i thought i needed a "dummy" 3 pin thing to go into the cpu fan header..

Should have been less than a minute.

Try setting 1st boot device to floppy, 2nd to HDD 0, and 3rd to CDROM. (Default on most boards)

If there is no floppy disk in the drive it will check HDD 0 for OS if nothing is found it goes to CDROM.
This should let you finish loading the OS.
