I'm a lab monitor at my university, and I go to kick these two Korean guys out since the lab has been closed for 10 minutes already. Anyway they get ready, and one of them starts yanking the DELL system out from the cradle underneath the table.

I say "What the fvck are you doing!?"

he replies in a very poor tongue that he's trying to get his usb keychain out.

From the back of the computer.

Dumbass - you can't miss the usb port on the front of these cases, and this guy had nearly busted the chassis to get at the back port. Honestly, I lose hope for university students on a daily basis because of people like him.

This has more to do w/ you being prejudice towards a certain race of people rather than the two Korean college students being dumbasses in your opinion.

Yea, I've worked at a university computer lab (dedicated to the Language department) and well, you know the rest.

you mean the dells that have the usb ports under a cover that's integreted on the front of the case?
yeah... first time i saw one of those that's what i thought... there must be 2 usb ports under there.

That happened all the time at the lab I used to work at in Pittsburgh. There were more than a few USB drives that didn't fit into the front USB ports because of the positioning.

Actually, since it looks like a door, I did assume that.

Yep, it's pretty obvious, unless you've never touched a computer before.

Nice, how are you finding it now? Are you in residence?

Yep, first thing I checked when I got my Dell. It's a retarded design though.

Off rez, just on Sheppard Ave. I enjoy programming but hate CS (its not that I can't cut it...have a 4.0).

Edit: you live on campus?

I'm in Pond road res this year, which was a mistake. We have a great house for next year, 350/month that's just off campus.

I work for Atkinson on the second floor of TEL, some real clowns attending there.

Its not universities in general OR race.
Just York.

*cough* Waterloo *cough*

It's funny , I was hired with the city of Ottawa for a junior engineering position over the 3rd year interns from waterloo.

Heh I'm always in TEL. Have used the labs a few times but not that much (easier to work at home than with a thousand guys talking in Chinese around you). Might have ran into you once or twice.
