Guys, i have recently bought a new video card and a motherboard. I cant seem to get through installing my drivers and im wondering if im right on this problem.

Should i have the same wires that are running my hard drives run my video card too?

I have two hard drives being powered by this one cord, and it is also pushing my 6800. Im guessing this is a no no right?

Your problem sounds more software than hardware but having a 6800 powered by the same line as 2 HDD's isnt the best thing to do. Try to get the 6800 onto its own dedicated line or a one with only fans on.

some more information about your setup would help. What PSU and mboard do you have.

Yeah, running all that off one cable is a bad idea, but wouldn't keep your system from running at idle.

I'm thinking that since you just upgraded your mobo, you're probably using the same HD(s) and OS as your old mobo? Could possibly be a driver conflict with old drivers that weren't properly uninstalled. Same for the VGA.

Good luck!

i had problems running my 6600gt of the same 12v rail as my hdd's so I bought a Enermax EG495ax and have been very happy since. Do you have a MB monitor installed to check your voltages?

Is this a clean installation or an old one.

Motherboard drivers in particular can be angry little beasts at times. Clean install for best results, and minimal headaches.
