I happen to care about this community and some people do give me valuable advice, advice necessary to me because I did lead the geek life for so long, sheltered by my parents in front of my computer. SO, if you're not mature enough to either empathize or ignore, then laugh away. But remember that I'll be laughing at you for you lack of intelligence and maturity.

I donno, personally I enjoy being a geek. I've always enjoyed (some) sports, but no matter what, computing is what I like to do. I'd rather be selective in my friends that befriend anyone and start down a degenerate path of ... degenerateness!*

More power to you, I just lack many standard social skills because my life as one and post because people here have overcome things that I'm dealing with, and the advice given could prove valuable to other people as well.

And I'm personally very selective of my friends, at least that's what I tell myself is the reason for me not having many!

I really do my best to avoid saying things directly against someone, but based on threads like the one about you getting herpes (http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...tid=38&threadid=2001482&enterthread=y), I have to wonder if the previous was better. Either that, or you're just trying too hard, at least that's what I think when I see these threads everyday.
