Title says it all... Just need to know if I can plug a 2/3pin molex to 4pin connecter in when the computer is on.

You know it's wanna those want to make sure things. 🙂

I have done this without any problems, mostly to compare fan noise levels. I think some people have run into problems plugging things into the motherboard fan connectors though.

I've never attempted it, its power flowing through that cable after all - I personally wouldn't risk blowing my PSU/killing myself 🙂

Fireman thanks for the advise, yeah seems to be fine. I wouldn't however plug it in the mobo directly, now that is crazy. 😉 (Mitzi
if that is what you thought eheh)

Yeah, I've been shocked once and it wasn't bad or anything but enough to scare the sh!t outta me for a sec.

I went to plug in the molex for my cpu fan when I started it up for the first time. As I got them close together there was an arc and the pc wouldn't turn on. Come to find out there is a breaker in the ps that needs to reset itself and this takes a few minutes to reset. Made for a few nervous minutes.

I wouldn't advise it.
