okay, global win FOP32-1.... do I remove whatever comes on the bottom of it defaulty? some sorta pad? How do I remove it, can I leave it on the first time and deal with the thermal paste later (I have to unmount everything later because I am modding the case when I get home to some power tools)..

Thanks,

Yep - despite what others here might say, you can leave it on that first time and fire the system up (it's a phase change pad). When I first put my Duron 700 system together with the FOP32-1, I left the pad on while I ran the system at defaults before OCing later.

If you choose to remove the HS later (like I did to connect my Duron's L1 bridges), then you'll most likely need to discard what's left of the pad (usually in the form of a pink bubble-gum like material at that point) and replace with some type of decent thermal grease like arctic silver.

Nail polish remover (acetone) works pretty good softening it up,there's even a generic brand call 100% Acetone. No perfumes or oils added and its a little bit more manly to have in the too shed(nailpolish remover is in fine print;)). The face of the chips are made up of some tuff matierials,70c rated it has to be. I even read a post from a Good Ole Boy "I just took and warshed off with some kayroseen" but I wouldn't suggest that.:p
