Dumb Question about Temps

What's a decent temp for an Athlon ? I had an Alpha heat sink on it running at 89F. Couldn't take the sound so switched to a Golden orb, but she's running at 100f. Also, how much do you figure that the alpha is just cooling the temp sensor because it's duct/shield are mounted right over top of it?

Anything under 50C is fine. Mine runns at 38C /100F when Idle. The temps are unaccurate.

Is that a slot Athlon?

The orb is more susceptable "to interfering" with thermistor readings
