Dumb Question About Coop LAN Games

Hi guys,

my brother and I finally got reasonably up-to-date computers and are going to get a network set up in the next week or so. I've heard of a bunch of games that allow coop play, but I'm not sure how it works.

The last game we played coop for was Serious Sam (the first one). You got to re-spawn as much as you want. Is this how it works in games like Left 4 Dead, Resident Evil, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, HALO2?

Or do you die and watch the other guy play?

Thanks

All of the co-op games I have seen have some kind of respawn built in.

Left 4 dead 1 & 2 - In co-op the other person will respawn in a closet, and you have to "rescue" them by opening the door.

Borderlands - the other person respawns at a new-you station.

As for Halo and the other games you listed, I dont know.
