Speaking of pressure washers I can just imagine the number I could do on my concrete driveway if I decided to pressure wash it. I should buy one.

honestly why do you care unless there is a water shortage in your area?
He's paying for it anyway.

Water is unequally distributed on this earth, but there's no reason not to make abundant use of it where there is a lot of it.
It will snow again in the mountains the subsequent winter anyway.

If you're on fossil water you better not waste it though. Many places will be truly screwed in the next decades.

Look at it from his POV. He's washing his drive way and then some random person comes up to him and tells him not to do it. Wtf.

Unless the law is being broken, that is a water ban or runoff to a reservoir, the OP should mind his own business. Busy body neighbors are a bigger problem.

Although I do find the idea of routinely washing a driveway rather odd.

they are nice to have. i do the driveway, the house, deck and cars.
