Dumb Money/Credit Card Question

My wife and I are working to pay off our credit cards. I sent 1 payment 2 weeks ago and than another 1 week ago (after calling for a balance amount). I sent the full amount after calling.

Now my balance shows as "($XXXX.XX)"

Do the parentheses mean I overpaid? It seems like the balance amount I got when I called the 2nd time didn't reflect the previous payment.

I'd call the card company but I'm away on business and no longer carry the card.

Sorry I know this is dumb.
 
do the math. does your two payments added together, subtract the amt due, equal what is in the parenthesis? Otherwise post a SS

Actually yes 🙂

I just called and then entered the amount into my online bill pay. Didn't really give it a 2nd thought.
