Dumb, Dumber, Dumbest? -- With slideshow of 78 pics!

I went to the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival yesterday, its last day this year. I'd forgone the previous two days, the heat wave I figure was just too much on those days. I was on roller skates the whole time and had my DSLR with great 18mm-250mm lens attached and took almost a 1000 photos of PEOPLE!!!!!! 😀 A few videos too! I did these things the previous years too, never fails to be an exhilarating experience.

My favorite humans are beautiful sexy girls/women TBH. I tried not to miss taking pics of them.

At one point I noticed a couple of totally hot beautiful girls, probably about 20. They were super well dressed, having a great time, one was dancing. After a bit, they came over to me and one asked if I had a card for my photography. My response was pretty much like the final scenes of Dumb and Dumber: "I'm just an amateur." She replied, "I like your blades." I might have stammered "thanks," was thinking of commenting on how great they looked but didn't (I rarely say that to women). They walked away and disappeared. 🙁

I'm thinking I should print some cards. Many years ago I did have aspirations to be a professional photographer. I'm color blind (green blind), so I specialized in B&W, also it was cheap to DIY B&W, built a darkroom, etc. That predated digital photography. With digital cameras now, I suppose color's easier and way cheaper now, I guess I could do portraiture easily enough. Provide 8x10s, files.

Edit: Here's the slideshow I linked in post #92 on Oct. 10:

78 Selected photos taken at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, Sunday Oct. 5, 2014, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco

You should be able to run a slideshow.

In the park they had about 7 stages running pretty much simultaneously from ~11AM to 7PM for three straight days. Included in the photos are shots of 3 bands I witnessed, Robbie Fulks, Caitlin Rose and Jerry Douglas and the Earls of Leicester.

"hey guys, I took a thousand photos of hot women but the only thing in this post is text neener neener!!!~"

The only thing I took away from this is that you were on roller blades. People still use those?

Wow. Is that actually what that line meant? I kept trying to figure out what that slang term 'blades' meant, 'cause SURELY the OP did not think we were all just supposed to accept that he was at some kind of concert on rollerblades.

If that is, in fact, the case: I would say his interaction with women was about as good as you can hope to achieve while you are currently in the act of penetrating another man.

"Yes, I'm a photographer. Here's my card. Maybe you would like to do a private photoshoot some time?"

And you didn't ask them for their numbers? Smart...
TBH, it happens a lot that I feal real dumb. This was one of those times, although I'm not sure I should have done differently. I could have said something like "I'm an amateur but you girls looks so great I'd love to take your pictures for free. I could put some in my portfolio. I'll give you shots, 8x10's, give you files, you can do what you want with them. Here's my number." If they accepted that, maybe I could have asked them for theirs, but I figure I should probably leave the ball in their court at that point. But I didn't have the presence of mind, the wit to do that. How many times have I thought of a great thing to say after it was too late? Too many.

I hadn't even checked out my shots when I posted the thread. Shots are coming, be patient. It will be worth the wait.

I was on quads. She said blades, but it was quads. I didn't correct her, I barely picked up on what she said, not sure I did until they'd walked off. It's not uncommon for people to refer to quads as blades these days, they're just unknowing. No biggie. I'm pretty talented on quads, have skated them on the streets for 25 years straight. You can't imagine what a blast it is to skate on the road at HSB Festival with a DSLR and wide-ranging lens snapping photos willy nilly. I saw way more wheels this year than years past (the great majority were skateboards), but nobody was working a camera but me.

You weren't even on roller blades; you were on roller skates? Holy fuck, is this thread from like 1970? I know those aren't a thing anymore.

LOL! All of a sudden this thread delivers.

Maybe there's a reason she didn't say "nice quads..." ..? Wait, what?
