Dumb DSL question

So DSL recently became available in my area( I live about a mile out of town). I currently have dial-up (its sucks) and would like to move out of the stone age and upgrade to DSL. I never really looked into it before so I have a question. Is there anything that needs to be done to my phone lines for it to work. I know you need filters on each phone socket, but does anything need to be done to the phone box right outside my house? Or do I just call my ISP say I want DSL and they send me the modem, I'm pretty sure I could set it up, and I'm good to go?

Thanks
Brandon

Just call my ISP say I want DSL.

They would tell you what is entailed to their specific DSL service.
