ok so there is this very large rottweiler that is constantly in my neighborhood. the owner either lives in the neighborhood or is always there. anyway that stupid rotty always barks when i drive by and acts pretty aggressively when it sees me. i'm sick of tired of it b/c the owner always has it off the leash unless he sees me walking down the street, then he quick catches his dog and puts it on a leash so as i walk past it barks at me while the owner holds it back.

i'm tired of this crap, what's the best way to deal with this dog? antifreeze in a dish? gravy soaked spunge? i need a nice quiet way to get rid of this filthy mutt. I have no problem with this, i mean it's not my fault if I'm conducting an antifreeze experiment in my front yard and his unleased dog drinks it.

edit: it sometimes determines when we can or can't go for a run b/c it "guards" the exit road out of our court. The owner obviously knows it aggessive b/c he quick ties is up when he sees people but quite often the owner is no where to be found. I have the right to protect myself. What if it bit me, or worse, bit a kid in the neighborhood and tore his face up??? People > Animals.

---

This is just plain sick, and it is unacceptable on our forums. Please do not post anything this gross again.

why should I get banned for this? it's a real question and a real problem. i'm sure there are others that deal with this same thing. i'm sorry but if the owner can't keep his pet on a leash or control it I have the right to protect myself and my property.

Let it bite you, break skin. The problem will solve itself, and you might have a nice lawsuit on your hands.

I thought about that, but this thing is the size of a 1 year old bear cub...probably weighs 100 lbs and has a neck like Magnus VerMagnusson.

You have no business murdering someone's pet because you don't like it. If your concerns are truly valid, then take care of it legally.

It there's an unrestrained aggressive animal, and the owner is not around, you're within your rights to call animal control. If you truly think that you're justified to kill the animal outright, you do deserve to be banned, and you're also an idiot.

I'd just sit out on my front lawn with my AK loaded.... minding my own business... cleaning it perhaps?

OH NO, TEH DOG COMES!!! POW POW POW!!!!

The dog being dead in MY yard I think would be sufficient enough proof that I was acting in self defense

Killing the dog is not the answer. All you are going to get from that is more problems.

If you don't want to try animal control then you have to be careful.

My dad had the same problem for a long long time with a dog down the street. It even killed some of our pets. A bunch of birds my grandparents had. :(

What my dad did was made the dog fear him so the dog always ran away and didn't come near our house anymore.

Just get a BB rifle and anytime the dog comes on your property shoot it. It's non-lethal and effective. Soon it will remember you and your property with pain and will stop coming around.

Of course you may have to explain to the owner why the dogs tail goes between his legs when you are around....

Well it worked in our case anyway.
